If you are a newcomer to the web, you may be asking yourself certain questions, such as "what is this website about?", "what is it's purpose?", "why does it exist?" and "what am I doing here?"
Well I can provide answers to the first three questions; this website represents my personal web presence, now in it's third incarnation. I've had a personal website since early in 1996, although the earlier versions now exist only in my personal archives and in the memories of various search engines.
The purpose of my personal web site is and always has been primarily self-promotion, although if you look closely enough you will see occasional attempts at vague usefulness, social interaction, humour and self-parody.
I originally created my own website back in 1996 because I saw my career becoming inexorably linked with the Internet, and I wanted to demonstrate both an affinity and an ability with the World Wide Web as a communications medium.
At this point my career has progressed to a point where practical web skills are no longer a key requirement; which is fortunate, because by today's standards this site is pretty basic (and is likely to stay that way)... I don't have the time to keep up with all the new web technologies anymore, and I'm not especially gifted as a graphic designer.
However, this site gives me a forum for various rants and raves, some of my friends and family get a kick out of the pictures, and if the past is anything to go by, it may provide a useful promotional function!
As for what you are doing here, you'll have to answer that one yourself -- as it said on previous incarnations, this site is for people with nothing better to do, or those who don't want to do it.

The structure of this site is hopefully pretty straightforward:
